BBC Multimedia takes Gold Award at Good Toy Awards with Tweenies - Play to the Music
BBC Multimedia, the video games publishing division of BBC Worldwide, has taken the Gold Award in the Electronic & Multimedia category of the Good Toy Awards 2002, with Tweenies - Play to the Music PC CD-ROM.
The Awards, organised by the National Association of Toy & Leisure Libraries, recognise toys from a wide range of categories. Each toy is rigorously tested and appraised for safety, durability, price, educational merit, playability and versatility. As well as gathering opinions of childcare professionals and parents, the NATLL collects the thoughts of children themselves in selecting the winners.
The Good Toy Award is the second Award for Tweenies - Play to the Music, which won a Gold at the International Visual Communication Association Awards 2002.
Andrew Johnson, BBC Multimedia's Sales & Marketing Director, said: Naturally, we're delighted to have struck gold at the Good Toy Awards. It's testimony to the expertise and effort we put into our products, especially since it's the views of children that help decide the result.
Tweenies - Play to the Music was released in October 2001 and was developed by Interesource. The PC CD-ROM title is based around the concept of music, so children have fun with and learn about music at the same time. Additionally, the product comes with a dance mat and microphone, adding to the interactivity available when playing.
