MADAME ALEXANDER Takes Another Trip Down The Yellow Brick Road
This time Cissy becomes Dorothy. Dorothy Cissy with a Flat Chest Torso and glittering ruby red slippers is one of the most innovative and enchanting Cissys ever done. Dressed in a blue and white gingham dress with straps, she wears a white taffeta shirt with puffy sleeves underneath. Toto comes with Dorothy, carried in a small basket.
Dorothy and Munchkinland Set features another Dorothy, a 10 inch Cissette, dressed in the blue and white gingham pinafore and ruby slippers. Of course Toto, as always, comes with her. But He isn’t the only friend who comes with Dorothy. She also brings along 5 inch Flower Bonnet Munchkin, the Lullaby Munchkin and, the Mayor of Munchkinland.
The Mayor of Munchkinland makes a visit in 2003 as an 8 inch doll. Dressed in the traditional mayoral garb, he comes in a green velvet jacket and pants, a plaid vest of purple, blue and yellow and a stripped bow tie. His green velvet top hat sits upon a jaunty little Wendy face with dark hair and a mustache.
Did you know bears are very popular in Munchkinland? They certainly are, and what is most fun about the To Oz Munchkinland Bear Set is that each bear is dressed as their favorite character. There is Glinda The Good Witch, Lullaby Munchkin, Oz Flower Munchkin, and Dorothy bears. The Bears are all very happy to finally take the trip down the Yellow Brick road, especially, as just for them, Madame Alexander has invited other favorites back to meet them.
Wicked Witch, Winged Monkey, OEO Guard, Glinda, Hairdresser, Cowardly Lion, Tin Man, Scarecrow, and Dorothy has all made the trip to meet the bears. And, if the gang’s all there, you need also to have The Emerald City and Wizard Chamber, for where else would they all meet?
The Alexander Doll Company, a New York-based company, is now celebrating its 80th Anniversary, continuing the tradition, elegance and innovation of Madame Alexander dolls with a full line of fine quality, handcrafted collectible dolls, baby dolls and play dolls. The company has created a series of firsts that have shaped the doll industry and has always been a pioneer of style and quality in this community.
