Educational Insights Wins Dr. Toy's 2001 Awards for Best Children's Vacation Products
Educational Insights, Inc. today announced that four products in its world-renowned line of educational toys and digital learning aids are winners in the Dr. Toy's Best Children's Vacation Products 2001 award program. The winning toys are GeoSafari Talking Globe Traveler, Phonics Firefly, Piccolo Interactive Discovery Center and Sound FX Mania. The toys are featured in Dr. Toy's Guide , and Dr. Toy will later donate them to needy children in the San Francisco Bay Area.
These products meet Dr. Toy's high standards of safety, uniqueness, top design, durability, cost effectiveness and value for vacation travel or at a destination, said Kevin Casey, vice president of sales and marketing for Educational Insights. As Dr. Toy says, our products are the right Rx for summer fun because they give children something extra in terms of learning, play and creativity.
GeoSafari Talking Globe Traveller is a travel-sized version of the famous GeoSafari Talking Globe and features 5,000 geography questions with arcade-like lights and sounds. It includes help and repeat keys, as well as a volume control.
Phonics Firefly teaches letter recognition and phonemic awareness with clear, crisp digital speech that helps children properly sound out words. The toy has seven modes of play to take children through spelling three-letter words. It also includes volume control and automatic shut off.
Sound FX Mania is a handheld three-in-one memory game featuring a 24-button keypad and 36 wacky sounds. Players memorize and match sounds and lights in three games: FX-treme Sound Machine, Manic Memory Maze and Zap It! A built-in headphone jack allows silent play.
Piccolo Interactive Discovery Center combines children's books with interactive technology and digital sound. Children can learn math, reading, science, social studies, music and additional skills while reading and singing along with the activities and games. Users press a Piccolo pen to an interactive book or puzzle on the platform and enjoy sound effects, words, songs, rhymes and questions. The unit also features an easy-carry handle for travel and a headphone jack for quiet listening. An 18-page sampler book is included.
