PENTAGONIA – The Winning Continues

Pentagonia, a board game that was created and designed in Western Canada, has received an Award of Excellence from Discoveryschool.com.

Discoveryschool.com is owned by and affiliated with, The Discovery Channel. It provides information and materials of interest to children, parents and teachers and maintains an on-line Best Games and Toys list that is composed of child and adult tested and evaluated products.

To be included in the Discoveryschool.com Best Games and Toys list, the adult and child testers must have considered the product worthy of at least 3 stars on a five star scale. To receive the Award of Excellence the reviewers must consider the product worthy of at least 4 ½ stars on the five star scale. According to Discoveryschool.com, the award means Pentagonia is very good, and highly recommended.

Pentagonia was awarded 4 ½ out of five stars and described as a challenging strategy game that will appeal to children ages 8 & up, as well as to their parents, a pleasantly addictive game, and a worthy addition to the board game collection of families that prefer to avoid mindless games.

The Discoveryschool.com award is the second international commendation that Pentagonia has received this year, and the fifth international accolade it has received since it has been on the market. In September, Pentagonia was recommended by the (American) National Association for Gifted Children, and included in its Holiday Educational Toy List 2002, where it was descr4ibed as an easy to learn game that is an intriguing challenge to master.

Last year, Pentagonia received a Seal of Approval Award from the not-for-profit California based The National Parenting Center, which described it as a game you’ll want to pull out again and again, and made the renowned San Francisco based Dr. Stevanne Auerbach’s list of the 100 Best Children’s product in North America. She described it as fast-paced, stimulating, and challenging, another winning product from Canada.

Pentagonia was also one of eight games selected by a team of students at Rutgers University for inclusion in a Most Enjoyed Games list they published.
