Wizards of the Coast, a leading publisher of trading card games, has come out with a range of new trading card games and perennial favorites, from trading card games based on the hot web property Neopets® and TV's longest-running prime-time comedy The Simpsons to the granddaddy of trading card games - the Magic: The Gathering® game, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

This holiday season, parents can stuff more fun into kids' stockings with these new trading card games:

Neopets - the fun, fantastical virtual pet creatures found at www.neopets.com - are making their way from PCs to living rooms everywhere this holiday season. With the Neopets Trading Card Game, players challenge their friends' Neopets in contests of strength, agility, magic and intelligence. The two-player starter game is available for $9.99 booster packs are $3.49. Ages 8+.

Homer, Bart, Lisa and Mr. Burns get decked-out in The Simpsons Trading Card Game...exxxcellent! Fans of the longest-running prime-time television comedy get to assume the role of their favorite character and try to be the first to take over a location in Springfield. Character decks are $8.99 each; booster packs are $3.49. Ages 8+.

The original trading card game Magic: The Gathering celebrates its 10th anniversary this year with a new edition that includes a two-player game complete with everything new players need to get started playing this popular strategy card game tabletop or online. Theme decks are $7.99 and booster packs are $3.29. Ages 12+.

Don't worry if your team didn't make the World Series, as the owner and manager of your own team, baseball fans can keep the fun going well into the off-season with the MLB Showdown Trading Card Game. Players assume the role of owner and manager of their own MLB team, and get to acquire the 2003 season's top players and strategize, pitch and bat their way to the playoffs. A two-player starter game is just $9.99, with booster packs of the new Pennant Run expansion available for $2.99. Ages 8+.

From the baseball diamond to the movie theater...there's a brand-new setting for the Star Wars® Trading Card Game. The Empire Strikes Back Trading Card Game features favorite Episode V characters, including: Yoda, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Boba Fett and Darth Vader. Players choose the Light Side or the Dark Side, and battle opponents in famed Star Wars locations and scenes from the movie. The Empire Strikes Back Trading Card Game releases this month - just in time for the holidays - and is available in a two-player starter set for $9.99. Booster card packs are $3.29.
